Along came an idea and then another idea and then it happened. The
3rd Clubhouse would provide a new home for the Green Bay Yacht Club
and its' membership. The 3rd Clubhouse is the current Clubhouse.
After all, at the end of a challenging (fill in here any way you like)
day on the water, the skipper and crew certainly need a comfortable
place to relax and tip a few. The current Clubhouse began it's
existence as the Bay Family Restaurant. When this restaurant came up
for sale, a group of visionaries realized this would become the 3rd
Clubhouse.
Below you can see what the building looked like when it stood on it's
original location as a restaurant.
So it seems to be a good buy and we can move it. Well... after we cut
it in half we can move it.
Putting it back together? That might be a little bit harder.
It looks pretty good in one piece again.
The work is done, the formalities finished, the invitations out, and the
festivities ready to begin.
This new Club... - Looking pretty good!
Oh, let us not forget about demolition of the old Club. It's a little
bit sad seeing it go.
Detail,
detail, and more detail will be added to this page in another
installment to G.B.Y.C. history.
